Nick was hired at Sarasota Ford in a full time position. This is monumental for him and his family. He worked at Shults Ford in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before moving to Sarasota, so he had experience working at a car dealership.

But for people like Nick to get a foot in the door and have a business "take a chance”, unfortunately it takes effort — effort from someone to reach out to the business to explain the value of hiring a person with a disability, effort from a job coach to prepare their "client" for an available job, effort from the supervisor at the business to truly understand (because hiring someone like Nick might be new to them), effort from families to "let go" and trust, and most of all effort (bravery, really) from the person with the disability to jump in after years of being shutout.

We are so proud of Nick and excited to watch him embrace this new opportunity. He is thrilled (look at that picture!), we are ecstatic, his family is "just beyond," and Sarasota Ford is happy to see that they may have just hired a lifelong, dedicated employee who will lift up the entire place and everyone around him from colleagues to customers.
